Minutes of the Public Hearing of the Legislative Council
Held in the Board Room in the Newtown Municipal Center,
3 Primrose Street, Newtown, Connecticut
Wednesday, June 2, 2010

George Ferguson opened the Public Hearing at 6:30 pm to hear public comment on the possible enactment of the following revised ordinance:
An ordinance entitled “Design Advisory Board”, Chapter~27 Newtown Code [HISTORY: Adopted by the Legislative Council of the Town of Newtown 9-1-2004. Amendments noted where applicable.] GENERAL REFERENCES Subdivision of land~—~See Ch. 460 Zoning~—~See Ch. 490. Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Appeals~—~See Ch. 554

PRESENT:  George Ferguson III, Chris LaRocque, Richard Woycik, Gary Davis, Daniel Amaral, Jan Andras, Mary Ann Jacob and Chairman Jeffrey Capeci

ABSENT:  Kevin Fitzgerald, John Aurelia Sr., James Belden, and Benjamin Spragg,

ALSO PRESENT: 2 members of the public.

VOTER PARTICIPATION:

Lilla Dean, 14 Old Hawleyville Road, Chairman of the Planning Zoning Commission, told the Council that the reason they ask for the change is because the Design Advisory Board had trouble getting a quorum and by having two alternates it would make it easier. She noted the Board has done a very good job for them and she thinks it would make things easier if the Design Advisory Board had more members to call upon.

Having no further public comment, George Ferguson closed the public hearing at 6:35 pm.
